Headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Fundação Brasileira para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável - FBDS (Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development) was created in 1992 to implement the Treaties and Conventions approved at ECO'92.

It is a non-profit foundation that creates and implements projects for sustainable development in all of Brazil for clients like BID, World Bank, prefectures and state governments all over Brazil, for medium and large sized companies. Some of the FBDS founding partners are: Acesita, Companhia Siderúrgica Belgo-Mineira, Cia. Vale do Rio Doce, Klabin, Petrobrás, Shell Brasil and Varig S.A.

Calepino began its relationship with FBDS in 1999, with the creation of the Foundation's first site.
